I've been quilting for about ten years. I started, of course, with traditional quilting and branching out to crazy quilting and then art quilting. A friend at work sewed her own clothes and we started talking about trying quilting. We took a class from our local community college, "Quilt as you go log cabin". We both just had to make KING size quilts. That almost finished me for good as it was long before rotary cutters were used. You can just imagine cutting 36 yards of fabric into strips. I used one of those purple disappearing ink markers to mark the lines and by the time I finished marking the lines on the last piece of fabric, the lines had already disappeared from the first piece.

I live in Lawrenceville, Georgia, but was born and raised in Fresno, California. We moved to Georgia in 1999 for my job and we both love it here. My husband and I share our home with a West Highland White Terrier named Piper and a tenacious Scottie Doxie mix named Sadie. They pretty much control our lives and keep us active. Piper likes to squeeze in and lay on my feet when I'm sewing to try to get me to stop, actually it's pretty effective. Sadie is a very vocal dog, she talks to us all the time, usually at very inopportune times.

I am a member of the QuiltArt mail list which keeps me involved in quilting and trying new techniques. With over 2,000 members world wide, there are always great ideas shared and a feeling of community in a strange land. I know that no matter where I move, my friends will always be as close as my computer.

My husband is retired and has kindly agreed to do all the house work and cooking while I work, I still have a few years until I can play full time. Until then, I dream.
